Welcome! We are so glad you are here and we look forward to meeting you and your family!
NextGen Ministries at Cargill United Methodist Church is ministry designed for children and students ages 0 thru 18 and their families. We believe children are not just the future of the church—they are a vital part of it today. That is why we love having children and students in worship and creating opportunities for all generations to grow together in faith and community.
One of our priorities is creating meaningful multigenerational experiences where kids, students, parents, grandparents, and our church families can build relationships together. Throughout the year we offer events like events such as an annual trivia night, Beloit Sky Carp baseball game, visiting a pumpkin patch, decorating for Christmas, movie nights and other opportunities throughout the year for connection.
On Sunday mornings, families can expect a welcoming environment with opportunities designed specifically for kids and students. We offer busy bags for multiple ages, a family table near the front of the sanctuary for children to use during worship, and a themed worship bulletin each week that connects with the service message. Children are invited forward for a weekly children’s message, and nursery care is available for ages 0–5 during worship services.
We also celebrate important faith milestones throughout a child and student’s journey, including baptism, 3rd Grade Bible presentation, confirmation, Graduation Sunday, and more.
Learn more below about our current and upcoming programs for children, students, and families.

Nursery care is available on Sunday mornings during worship services for children ages 0–5. Our nursery provides a safe, caring, and welcoming environment where children can play, learn, and be cared for while parents and guardians participate in worship.
Nursery care is also offered during various church events and programs as needed. We also do our best to offer childcare for older ages during special events and services.
Little Lambs is a monthly gathering at Cargill United Methodist Church for guardians and their littles up to age 5. Together we share a story, enjoy a snack, spend time in community, and play together in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
Little Lambs currently takes place on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00–11:00am in Fellowship Hall at Cargill. This is a wonderful opportunity for young children and their caregivers to connect, build friendships, and grow together.

Faith Explorers is our children’s ministry where kids can discover who God is, grow in their faith, build friendships, and have fun along the way.
Faith Explorers Sunday School meets during the school year between worship services at 10am. Our rotation-based program explores one Bible story or theme through four different stations: Kid Quest (games), Faith Lab (science and STEM), Wonder & Worship (music), and Creation Station (art). Each week gives kids a new way to explore, wonder, create, and grow in faith.
Faith Explorers Family Nights bring kids and their families together for special experiences throughout the year. From themed events like Twists & Turns, movie nights or other seasonal gatherings. These nights change so make sure to get our newsletter that has updated information.
Joyful Noise Children’s Choir is open to students in 4th grade and up during the school year. Children learn a new song each month and share their music during worship at both Sunday services.
This ministry helps children grow in confidence, worship leadership, and community while using their gifts to praise God through music.

Student Ministries is for Middle School and High School students to grow in faith, build meaningful friendships, serve others, and have fun together.
Youth Group meets every Sunday evening from 6:00–7:30pm at Cargill and includes teaching, games, small groups, and time together.
Beyond Sunday nights, students have opportunities throughout the year to put their faith into action by serving at GIFTS Men’s Shelter, participating in mission trips, attending youth conferences, and taking part in other special events and experiences.
