Who We Are

Who We Are

We are an 800-member congregation located in the south-central Wisconsin city of Janesville, Wisconsin.

As a congregation of The United Methodist Church, we are locally focused and globally connected. We are committed to the city of Janesville and surrounding areas of Rock County.

Cargill UMC represents a cross-section of people of various ages and backgrounds. Some of us are new and questioning. Others are spiritually mature. There’s not a mold in which you have to fit.

You Are Welcome Here

You are welcome whether you’ve never been part of a church before, or you’re a longtime church member. We are here to help you on your faith journey. We pray that at Cargill you can find ways to connect with God and others , grow spiritually and learn to serve as Jesus invites us to care for our community.

Pastor Steve Scott has served as lead pastor of Cargill UMC since July 2020. Our Associate Pastor is Leo Cadavos, and our Pastor of Senior Ministries is Stu Allen.

Our Mission

To invite, welcome and inspire people to:

  • Connect with God and others
  • Grow in faith
  • Serve our neighbors

Pastor's Vision

To be a place where lifelong Christians deepen in faith, where displaced Christians find a home, and where nominally religious and non-religious people find meaning and hope.

– Pastor Steve Scott

What We Believe

We are part of a denomination that serves in communities across the world. Each church adapts to its local context. We’re connected in both the Wisconsin Conference of other United Methodist congregations, as well as The United Methodist Church at large.
